Senior Programs
Senior Programs
Lower impact doesn’t mean lower benefits! We offer fitness programs and classes specifically designed for seniors that can meet your needs through reduced impact activities. Our programs will help seniors improve cardiovascular health, flexibility, strength, stamina, balance and coordination. Men and women of all skill levels are encouraged to participate. Stay healthy and fit with us while making some new friends.

Fitness Evaluation
Fitness Evaluation
A general health assessment and fitness evaluation is offered to all of our members. A fitness evaluation determines the level of the five health-related fitness components which are body composition, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, and aerobic capacity. Fitness improvement and maintenance is a key to longevity and quality of life. It is critical to understand your level of fitness before starting an exercise program.

Quit Smoking
Can't Quit Smoking? Our Smoking Cessation program has a proven 70 percent quit rate. That's more than three (3) times the national average. What makes this program the most effective way to becoming smoke free? For the same reasons one university or hospital is considered better than another: curriculum, staff, experience and philosophy. Instructors are International Smoking Cessation Specialists certified through the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Pharmacy.

If you are a smoker, one of the most important decisions you can make for your future health is to stop smoking NOW! This class focuses on the development of YOUR dependency, habits and addiction to nicotine. Discussion covers how dependencies control behavior, creat habits, alter personalities, and affect lifestyle. We will systematically guide you through the step-by-step changes necessary to becoming smoke free. Topics also include: Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), stress management, controlling withdrawls, weight gain and other special situations.

Exercise is not always enough! If you need help with weight loss, high blood pressure or cholesterol or managing your diabetes. Our staff is available to counsel you on ways to meet your nutritional needs and health goals. We offer education and counseling about healthy eating, preventive nutrition and lifestyle choices. Personal Training
Personal Training
You don't have to be a seasoned athlete or bodybuilder to enjoy the benefits of a personal trainer. Personal training benefits both the person who has never worked out as well as professional athletes. Having a personal trainer can save you a lot of time, frustration and pain in your journey to achieve your health and fitness goals. Working one-on-one with our staff of certified, professional personal trainers will provide you with a highly efficient and more productive workout.

Our facility is staffed by licensed physical therapists specializing in sports medicine and manual therapy (Certified McKenzie Therapists) with a commitment to providing exceptional care and service. Our physical therapists are trained specifically to improve movement and function, relieve pain (Fibromyalgia and Neurologic Pathologies), and expand movement potential. The C.A.N.I. Fitness Center has redefined the principals of "Sports-specific" Training. We utilize unparalleled training methods developed for professional power-lifters, Olympic and pro-athletes alike.

We studied under elite professional athletes and trainers to perfect training methods developed and used by many of the worlds' top record holders. We are proud to be affiliated with this state-of-the-art training model. The results our athletes have attained speak for themselves. No other training methods used today can offer the results like those we apply.

Our training methods coupled with proper considerations of muscle physiology and biomechanics can increase: rate coding of the muscle fiber, motor unit synchronization of the Muscular System, neuromuscular coordination, muscular hypertrophy, transfer of power, muscle stabilization, explosive strength, rate of force development and accelerating strength leading to a more complete and competitive athlete.
